"Shifting Shades," is a video that projects color on to my figure as a way to display my emotions through color.

Project 5: Final

I decided to use denim as my medium because the texture helps my flag appear more relaxed. When I think of what a flag means, I instantly think of comfort and ease because it represents something you stand by. Denim is one of my favorite fabrics and it is constantly involved in many of my design processes. So creatively, the weaving that makes up denim is a representation of the constant thoughts and ideas that I weave together in my own mind.

I had some trouble with keeping the tape on top of the small corners of both paintings. I plan on redoing both.

Project 1

For Project one I choose to draw abstract inspiration from this abstract photo of leaves. Though the picture has a wider composition, I decided to crop it down and focus more on the action of the lines that make up the leaves in the photo.

I spilled ink on my paper and I am currently in the process of finding a new sheet.

Project 3

I believe my colors work well, especially the one color as two which is the first one. The dullness of the purple behind the bright push color, flushes out the vivid elements of it.

I did not like where the other attempt was going, so I am trying this pattern instead.
I just need to figure out a way to bring in the vibrating element.

Here are my Munsell color charts! I'm missing a few that will be uploaded soon but I believe most of the charts are pretty organized, in terms of value and chroma.

#Blacklight... A Tribut to Dan Flavin

#Blacklight is a Hersher tribute to the famous light artist Dan Flavin and like Flavin this piece is a great example of color transforming a space through light. The neon purple tubes of light that make up this piece expand the space because of the exciting effect the purple light has on the mood of a viewer. When entering the room where #Blacklight is stationed, on lookers are instantly swallowed into a whimsical scene, invaded by color.
